Stay positive - Be polite and courteous to each other. It’s incredibly hard to control or aim (the steering wheel in overly sensitive and the gas pedal is more or less just an on/off switch for “go as fast as you can”) and the more tombstones there are on screen, the harder it is to move around without getting hung up on something and spending most of your time frantically jerking your car back and forth to try to get into a position where you can dart forward again and squish some more guys before the timer runs out.A subreddit devoted to tips and tricks for being more productive. Every time you hit something solid… you stop, have to throw your car into reverse, back up, stop, turn, and shift back to forward again. It’s got a steering wheel and a shift knob and a gas pedal. But it’s incredibly fun to play because it’s got solid chunky controls and more or less plays like an electronic version of bumper cars. It’s an incredibly simple game, about up there with something you’d find on an old TRS-80 computer. There’s a copy in Musee Mecanique at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, if anyone’s interested. It has the dubious honor of being the first video game to be banned for “violent content” since the point of the game is to run over little stick figures for points. At one point, there were only believed to be five copies left in existence, but more have surfaced in recent years. Definitely Death Race (which is based loosely on the movie Death Race 2000).
